The Adventures Of My Overactive Imagination...

Isn’t it odd how much fatter a book gets when you’ve read it several times? As if something were left between the pages every time you read it. Feelings, thoughts, sounds, smells, and then, when you look at the book again many years later, you find yourself there, too, a slightly younger self, slightly different, as if the book had preserved you like a pressed flower, both strange and familiar.

He suddenly recalled from Plato’s Symposium: People were hermaphrodites until God split then in two, and now all the halves wander the world over seeking one another. Love is the longing for the half of ourselves we have lost.

Five common traits of good writers:

1. They have something to say.
2. They read widely and have done so since childhood.
3. They possess what Isaac Asimov calls a “capacity for clear thought,” able to go from point to point in an orderly sequence, an A to Z approach.
4. They’re geniuses at putting their emotions into words.
5. They possess an insatiable curiosity, constantly asking Why and How.

The modern day Leech…

Admittedly we all know that one person who attaches themselves on to all those who enter their world . Let us refer o this certain breed of person as ‘leeches’. They, similarly to the leech, attach themselves to a person and drain from them all they can, receiving all they can until their presence is noticed and they are removed…
I have recently had a first hand experience with a notorious ‘Leech’.
It, like the leech, drained me of my time, friends, finances and even took from me my relationship with my own family. In the animal kingdom a leech attaches itself to it’s prey, draining them, satisfying itself, taking all that it needs, the very life-source of that animal (blood) coursing through it’s veins, keeping it alive, the leech requires. And when it is satisfied it injects poison to cover the wound, and moves along..
In modern day society, the leach has evolved into a creature that seeks more than just blood, leaving behind a toxic poison that lingers long after it has moved on…

Unaware of it’s existence, I invited a leech into my world.

This particular leech drained me of an estimated $2600.00 AUD in under 1 year!
I let this leech into my home, taught it common manners, clothed it, employed it and gave it a home..
Unknowingly i fed this animal with my own blood, it took my very life-source, all that I held dear to me..

Once the leach took all that I had, it injected it’s poison, and moved on..

To my horror, this leech has evolved..
It has become a mutant breed of species, somewhat of a ‘super leech’..
It has evolved into a black widow leech..
This leech would drain it’s prey, and not did it only inject it’s poison, it devoured my all, my everything, leaving a trail of destruction in it’s wake..
A victory over my personal world was not satisfaction enough for this leech, it was not done yet.. Setting it’s eyes upon destroying not only my life but my name..
By this modern day leech I will not be defeated.
For now I have survived, remained strong in my stance.
As for tomorrow, it is yet to come…

A Church Divided…

Recently I was confronted with the words ‘Church Divider’. I found that it had a profound affect on the way I view certain organizations. Not so much the founding beliefs of the religion, but the added extras that those in a position of authority(usually by their own appointment) like to throw into the mix.
So here is the #Thought
If a mere human can be accused of ‘dividing’ a church, I would suggest that the church in question take a look at its foundation…A church built on God and his word will not be divided. However a church built on the power, status and word of man will be shaken to the core…. #truth
Unfortunately it seems to be that most of today’s ‘Icons’ be it religious or not, are all about image rather than substance… Its flashy cars, fancy dinners, and imported front doors, rather than the message or talent that they set out to convey in the first place….
Are we getting it wrong, are we caught up in the whirlwind of status?
